Past Campouts

Troop 276 goes camping once a month except in December and June thru August. We usually camp in State Parks or Scout Camps in Oklahoma. This page contains campouts we have gone on since January 1999.

Trappers' Rendezvous 1999
Troop 276's January campout will be January 15-17 at Trappers' Rendezvous near Newton, Kansas. This event is hosted by the White Buffalo District of Quivira Council and will include activities associated with the 1800s. Scouts should meet at the Del City Church of Christ at 5 p.m. Friday (Jan. 15) with departure scheduled for 5:15 p.m. We will return Sunday afternoon about 4PM. Be sure you are prepared for the weather. Permission slips are due at the January 12th troop meeting along with $15.

Camp Kickapoo 1999a
Troop 276's February campout will be February 19-21 at Camp Kickapoo near Mustang, Oklahoma. On this campout we will work on a monkey bridge to complete the requirement for the Pioneering Merit Badge. Scouts should meet at the Del City Church of Christ at 5 p.m. Friday (Feb. 19) with departure scheduled for 5:15 p.m. We will return Sunday afternoon about 1PM. Be sure you are prepared for the weather. Permission slips are due at the February 16th troop meeting along with $10.

Witchataw Mts. 1999
Troop 276's March campout will be March 26-28 in the Wichita Mts. near Lawton, Oklahoma. On this campout we will go exploring in the mountains. Scouts should meet at the Del City Church of Christ at 5 p.m. Friday (Mar. 26) with departure scheduled for 5:15 p.m. We will return Sunday afternoon about 3PM. Be sure you are prepared for the weather. Permission slips are due at the March 23rd troop meeting along with $7.

Sulfer Lake 1999
Troop 276's April campout will be April 23-25 at Sulfur Lake by Sulfur, Oklahoma. On this campout we will be doing a lot of hiking. Scouts should meet at the Del City Church of Christ at 5 p.m. Friday (Apr. 23) with departure scheduled for 5:15 p.m. We will return Sunday afternoon about 3PM. Be sure you are prepared for the weather. Permission slips are due at the April 20th troop meeting along with $7.

Illinoise River 1999
May's Campout was canceled due to high water in the river and the May 3rd Tornadoes.

SR^2 1999
Troop 276 will attend summer camp at Sid Richardson Scout Ranch June 19-26. We will be taking 16 kids and 5 adults. Check out our visit on the picture page!!!!

Camp Kickapoo 1999b
Troop 276's September campout will be September 24-26 at Camp Kickapoo in SW Oklahoma City. On this campout we will be fixing up a COPE course. Scouts should meet at the Del City Church of Christ at 5 p.m. Friday (Sep. 24) with departure scheduled for 5:15 p.m. We will return Sunday afternoon about 1PM. Be sure you are prepared for the weather. Permission slips are due at the September 21st troop meeting along with $10.

Robbers Cave 1999
Troop 276's October campout will be October 15-17 at Robbers Cave State Park in SE Oklahoma. This is a family campout. On this campout we will be hiking around the caves and will have a Service Project. There will also be a large arts and crafts fair that weekend at the park, we will probably go. Scouts should meet at the Del City Church of Christ at 4:45 p.m. Friday (Oct. 15) with departure scheduled for 5:15 p.m. We will return Sunday afternoon about 3PM. Be sure you are prepared for the weather. Permission slips are due at the October 12th troop meeting along with $8.

Camp Kickapoo 1999c
Troop 276's November campout will be November 12-14 at Camp Kickapoo in SW Oklahoma City. Our campout to Dr Acree's Farm was changed to a later date. Scouts should meet at the Del City Church of Christ at 5 p.m. Friday (Nov. 12) with departure scheduled for 5:15 p.m. We will return Sunday afternoon about 1PM. Be sure you are prepared for the weather. Permission slips are due at the November 9th troop meeting along with $10.

Trappers' Rendezvous 2000
Troop 276's January 2000 campout will be January 14-16 at Trappers' Rendezvous near Newton, Kansas. This event is hosted by the White Buffalo District of Quivira Council and will include activities associated with the 1800s. Scouts should bring some spending money and items to trade. Scouts should meet at the Del City Church of Christ at 5 p.m. Friday (Jan. 14) with departure scheduled for 5:15 p.m. We will return Sunday afternoon about 4PM. Be sure you are prepared for the weather. Bring your permission slips and camping gear to the January 11th troop meeting along with $10.

Camp Kickapoo 2000a
Troop 276's February 2000 campout will be February 18-20 at Camp Kickapoo in SW Oklahoma City. On this campout we might go on the COPE course there. We will also be playing escape and evade and have fire building competitions. Scouts should meet at the Del City Church of Christ at 5 p.m. Friday (Feb. 18) with departure scheduled for 5:15 p.m. We will return Sunday afternoon about 3PM. Be sure you are prepared for the weather. Permission slips are due at the February 8th troop meeting along with $8.

Wichita Mts. 2000
Troop 276's March 2000 campout will be March 3-5 at Wichita Mts. in SW Oklahoma near Lawton. On this campout we will go mountain climbing. We will also be going to the Meers Restaurant. Scouts should meet at the Del City Church of Christ at 4:45 p.m. Friday (Mar. 3) with departure scheduled for 5:05 p.m. We will return Sunday afternoon about 3PM. Be sure you are prepared for the weather. Permission slips are due at the February 29th troop meeting along with $8.

Ft. Cobb St. Park 2000
Troop 276's April 2000 campout will be April 7-9 at Ft. Cobb St. Park in SW Oklahoma near Nowhere, Okla. On this campout we will go canoeing on the lake. We will also do a service project. Scouts should meet at the Del City Church of Christ at 4:45 p.m. Friday (May. 7) with departure scheduled for 5:15 p.m. We will return Sunday afternoon about 3PM. Be sure you are prepared for the weather. Permission slips are due at the April 4th troop meeting along with $8.

Illinois River 2000a
Troop 276's May 2000 campout will be May 5-7 at the Illinois River in NE Oklahoma near Kansas, OK. On this campout we will go canoeing down the river. We will also be playing escape and evade and this is a family campout. Scouts should meet at the Del City Church of Christ at 5:00 p.m. Friday (May. 5) with departure scheduled for no later than 5:30 p.m. We will return Sunday afternoon about 3PM. Be sure you are prepared for the weather (ha-ha had to return early Sat. due to flood warnings and record rainfall). Permission slips are due at the May 2nd troop meeting along with $13.

Camp Simpson 2000
We will be going to Camp Simpson (near Bromide) this year. We will leave on June 10th about 10:00am and stop for lunch in Sulfur, OK. We will return June 17th around 2:00pm. To see a map click on the link below, we will be camping in Gila once again.

Colorado 2000
We will be going horse back riding up a mountain and go site seeing in Colorado this year. We will leave on July 8th at 5:00am (yes am) and return on July 15th.

Illinois River 2000b
Troop 276's September 2000 campout will be August 25-27 at the Illinois River in NE Oklahoma near Kansas, OK. On this campout we will go canoeing down the river. We might have more luck this time, high temps in the 100's and in 1 of 6 (of the 77 counties in Oklahoma) w/o a burn ban. Scouts should meet at the Del City Church of Christ at 5:00 p.m. Friday (Aug. 25) with departure scheduled for no later than 5:30 p.m. We will return Sunday afternoon about 3PM. Be sure you are prepared for the weather. Permission slips are due at the Aug. 22nd troop meeting along with $15 or free to those who tried last time.

Weblos Woods 2000
Troop 276's October 2000 campout will be October 13-15 at Camp Kickapoo in Central Oklahoma near Mustang. On this campout we will show the weblos what we bring with us to high adventure. Scouts should meet at the Del City Church of Christ at 5:00 p.m. Friday (Oct. 13) with departure scheduled for no later than 5:30 p.m. We will return Sunday afternoon about 1PM. Be sure you are prepared for the weather. Permission slips are due at the Oct. 10 troop meeting along with $10. A little wet but a good campout!

Trappers' Rendezvous 2001

Robber's Cave 2001
Troop 276's March campout will be March 30-April 1 at Robber's Cave in SE Oklahoma. On this campout we will be rock climbing and hiking. Scouts should meet at the Del City Church of Christ at 5 p.m. Friday (Mar. 30) with departure scheduled for 5:15 p.m. We will return Sunday afternoon about 4PM. Be sure you are prepared for the weather. Permission slips are due at the March 27 troop meeting along with $8.

Camp Kickapoo 2001
Troop 276's April campout was April 27-29 at Camp Kickapoo in SW Oklahoma City. On this campout we will be working on requirements and hiking. Scouts should meet at the Del City Church of Christ at 5PM Friday (Apr. 27) with departure scheduled for 5:15 p.m. We will return Sunday afternoon about 2PM. Be sure you are prepared for the weather. Permission slips are due at the April 24 troop meeting along with $8.

Lake Thunderbird 2001
Troop 276's May campout was May 18-20 at Lake Thunderbird East of Norman, Oklahoma. On this campout we will go canoeing in the lake. Scouts should meet at the Del City Church of Christ at 5PM Friday (May 18) with departure scheduled for 5:15 p.m. We will return Sunday afternoon about 2PM. Be sure you are prepared for the weather. Permission slips are due at the May 15 troop meeting along with $8.

Summer Camp 2001
Troop 276 will attended summer camp June 23-30 at Quivira Scout Ranch near Sedan, KS. Scouts should meet at the Del City Church of Christ at 9AM Saturday, June 23 with departure scheduled for 9:15 a.m. We will return the next Saturday in the afternoon around 3PM. Be sure you are prepared for all kinds of weather. Camp gear is to be checked out at the church on June 19. It turned out to be an interesting summer camp, it was a very low impact summer camp.

Lake Thunderbird 2002
Troop 276's April campout was April 19-21 at Lake Thunderbird East of Norman, Oklahoma. On this campout we will go canoeing in the lake and practice for High Adventure. Scouts should meet at the Del City Church of Christ at 5PM Friday (Apr 19) with departure scheduled for 5:15 p.m. We will return Sunday afternoon about 2PM. Be sure you are prepared for the weather. Permission slips are due at the April 16 troop meeting along with $8.

Prague Lake 2002
Troop 276's September campout is September 20-22 at Prague Lake east of Prague, Oklahoma. On this campout we will go canoeing in the 700 acre lake. Scouts should meet in the IGA/SuperThrift (NEW LOCATION) parking lot at 5PM Friday Christ at 5PM Friday (Sep 20) with departure scheduled for 5:15 p.m. We will return Sunday afternoon about 2PM. Permission slips are due at the September 17 troop meeting along with the money.

Camp Kickapoo 2002
Troop 276's October campout is October 18-20 at Camp Kickapoo south of Mustang, Oklahoma. On this campout we will set up some display or activity for the scout packs. Scouts should meet in the IGA/SuperThrift parking lot at 5PM Friday (Oct 18) with departure scheduled for 5:15 p.m. We will return Sunday afternoon about 2PM. Permission slips are due at the October 15 troop meeting along with the money.
